Areas D4 and D6 team up for an exceptional autumn event

As a way of bringing members of all nine clubs in Bamberg, Erlangen, Ingolstadt, Nuremberg, Regensburg and Würzburg together for a social and educational event this autumn, Fränkly Speaking Toastmasters hosted Curiosity – The Speakathon on Saturday Nov 28th 2020.

Each club in the two areas brought a speaker, an evaluator and members of the organizing team. Moderators from Noris, Würzburg and ReDensburger Toastmasters navigated us through the meeting; timers from Erlangen, Bamberg and Noris kept us in time; entertainers from Nuremberg, Nürnberger Rhetoriker and Hamburg helped us to stay fit and fresh for the longer-than-normal meeting.

The highlight, of course, were the nine speeches and nine evaluations that were full of creative ideas and Toastmasters‘ mastery. The Speakathon provided us with a unique opportunity to exchange stories and feedback with Toastmasters from outside our home clubs and to get a glimpse of how things are done in neighboring clubs.

And a Speakathon is not complete without an audience full of people curious to hear stories, be entertained, provide feedback, and support their fellow club members! Up to 46 Toastmasters and guests not only from Franconia, Bavaria and District 95 but even as far away as Barcelona and Malaysia joined us and enjoyed the event.

A delightful way to connect with other people on a grey November day. The participants hope that Fränkly Speaking Toastmasters has ignited a great new fall tradition and that this great event will come back in Fall 2021!
