No, they cannot. An applicant may apply for one region.

What involvement does the Region Advisor have in club officer training?Back to Top
At the District level, Region Advisors provide input on the marketing portion of training, but do not necessarily act as trainers.

Is a Region Advisor allowed to campaign on behalf of an International Officer or Director?Back to Top
No. This also precludes Region Advisors from being candidates themselves during their term.

When is a Region Advisor allowed to announce their candidacy for International Officer or Director?Back to Top
An RA may not stand for election at the Annual Business Meeting in the same year in which their RA term ends.

Can a Region Advisor be on a nominating committee?Back to Top
Region Advisors may not serve on the District Leadership Committee or the International Leadership Committee. However, Region Advisor applicants can serve, but if appointed, must immediately resign and find a replacement.

Can Region Advisors help Districts complete the District Success Plan (DSP)?Back to Top
Yes. Region Advisors guide District leaders as they complete the DSP. Region Advisors serve as a resource to District leaders and help the Districts achieve success.

What is the deadline for submitting an application?Back to Top
The application process opens July 15 and the deadline for submitting an application is September 30.

How are Region Advisors involved in training?Back to Top
Region Advisors facilitate District Leader Training in August at International Convention and at Mid-year Training in January. The Training Team at World Headquarters develops the content for the Region Advisors to present.

What is the difference in job scope between the positions of Region Advisor and International Director?Back to Top
Region Advisors are operational advisors at the region level who guide and support District leaders. The International Directors are officers of the corporation and have strategic and fiduciary roles.

When do Region Advisors visit Districts?Back to Top
Region Advisors are expected to visit Districts as approved by the International President primarily between July and October, during Toastmasters Leadership Institutes, District trainings or District Executive Committee meetings when not held during a District conference. Districts must accept visits by a Region Advisor.

Can Region Advisors visit Districts before the official program year begins on July 1?Back to Top
To avoid problems with overlapping terms, the incoming Region Advisor may visit Districts after July 1.

Can a Region Advisor make an unofficial visit to a District or club?Back to Top
No. Region Advisor visits are always official and need approval from the International President for any visit. Visits to club meetings within the Region Advisor’s region may be made at any time. However, visits to a District or club outside of the Region Advisor’s region require prior approval, and reimbursement is not provided.
